Workplace Tours

Monday 20th July at 4:30 pm | HKS Seattle Studio

Located in the heart of downtown Seattle, HKS’s Seattle studio was conceived as both an expression of the HKS brand and a celebration of the city’s unique culture, creativity, and spirit. Opened in 2023, the workplace draws inspiration from Seattle’s iconic “Mad Season”—the months of grey skies and rain that have long fuelled innovation across music, art, science, aviation, and technology.

During this guided tour, attendees will explore a workplace that balances muted atmospheres with vibrant creative energy through carefully curated colour, texture, and material selections inspired by the Pacific Northwest landscape. The studio showcases how workplace design can reflect local identity while fostering connection, collaboration, and innovation.

Tuesday 21st July | IA Interior Architects Seattle Studio Tour

Join an exclusive tour of IA Interior Architects’ award-winning Seattle studio, recipient of the 2025 IIDA Northern Pacific INAward for Best in Concept. Inspired by the rhythm of a boulevard, the studio blends urban and natural influences to create a workplace that supports collaboration, adaptability, and human connection.

Building on themes explored during the WORKTECH conference programme, including presentations from Valarie Jordan, this guided tour brings the studio’s Harmonic Principles, multi-sensory design strategies, and circular economy initiatives to life. Attendees will experience firsthand how neuroscience, workplace strategy, and sustainability can be integrated into the built environment.

The tour highlights innovative approaches including biophilic design, furniture and material reuse, 3D printing applications, and flexible construction methods. Together, these elements demonstrate how workplace designers are creating environments that are not only adaptable and inclusive, but also prepared for a more sustainable future of work.
