22 Bishopsgate is a new, people-focused workplace destination. The 62 storey building at the heart of the City of London’s financial district – described as Europe’s first vertical village – is expected to accommodate a community of up to 12,000 residents and visitors. Designed specifically with user experience and human interaction at the core, the building allows occupiers to benefit from the direct correlation between happiness at work/ quality of workplace with increasing an individual’s productivity and creativity.

The building is infused with smart technologies, from the front door to the glass façade and everything in between. State of the art technology increases efficiency and reduces points of friction for those who use it.

Opt-in facial recognition technology removes the hassle for entry and QR entry codes sent with visitors’ meeting invitations render the reception desk queue redundant. Roving receptionists greet and assist if required. The building will also offer an app for smartphones – a single platform aiming to reduce possible causes of stress and improve the quality of the occupier experience for those working in the building.  The glass closed-cavity façade not only offers huge improvements in daylight transmission, but it also has user-controlled smart blinds, and is a significant factor in the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating to which it is designed.

22 Bishopsgate’s community will have access to over 100,000 sq. ft of common areas across five floors, providing occupiers with a range of amenities, inspiring spaces, service and experiences. These include London’s largest cycle park, a fitness studio with a 25th storey climbing window, a tranquil wellbeing retreat, a private club and a buzzing food hall, known as The Market.  These spaces are carefully designed to create an exceptional experience, that in turn ease stress, help mental health and bring happiness.
