The Circle at Zurich Airport is not only an architectural landmark but also an award-winning project. Designed by renowned architect Riken Yamamoto, who received the Pritzker Prize in 2024, the highest honor in architecture, this is his only building in Europe. It has become a major hub for business, healthcare, hospitality, and events in Zurich.
In addition, The Circle received a Special Mention at the 2023 German Design Award in the category “Excellent Architecture – Lighting Design” for its innovative lighting concept, including the outdoor installation “The Path.”
The Circle at Zurich Airport stands out as a benchmark for sustainable architecture. It holds the distinction of being Switzerland’s highest-rated LEED Platinum certified building, achieving an impressive 93 out of 110 points—recognising its excellence in energy efficiency, renewable energy use, and environmental performance. Additionally, it is Switzerland’s largest Minergie-certified building, underscoring its commitment to low energy consumption and eco-friendly construction practices.
