Last Year at WORKTECH San Francisco

WORKTECH25 San Francisco brought together senior leaders from leading global institutions, including Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Uber, Visa, AT&T, University of California Berkeley and Jefferson County Gov’t.

Conversations focused on data-driven workplace strategy in highly distributed tech environments, AI-powered planning and space intelligence, hybrid transformation, portfolio optimisation, and the redesign of offices to drive vibrancy, performance, and measurable business impact. Sessions explored how emerging technologies are reshaping team dynamics, how research informs experimentation, and how CRE can elevate its role as a strategic driver inside the enterprise.

Delegates left with tangible lessons from Meta’s data-led workplace strategy, LinkedIn’s experimentation with AI-powered spatial concepts like team pods, and practical insight into using real-time space intelligence. They gained clear approaches to repositioning CRE as a strategic business driver, designing for workplace vibrancy rather than density, and leading AI and hybrid transformation with confidence rather than compliance.

Key Themes

The AI-Native Workplace

AI is no longer simply another workplace tool; it is beginning to reshape how knowledge work is organised, delivered and experienced. This theme explores what the workplace must become as teams work alongside intelligent systems, decision cycles accelerate, and new forms of collaboration emerge. From AI-enabled meeting environments and smarter workplace services to the cultural and behavioural shifts required for adoption, we will examine how leading organisations are preparing their people, places and technologies for an AI-native future.

Workplace Intelligence: From Data to Decisions

Workplace data is moving beyond occupancy reporting and utilisation dashboards. The next opportunity is to connect data across real estate, facilities, technology, HR and employee experience to support faster, more confident decision-making. This theme will explore how organisations are building more intelligent workplace operating models, using real-time insights to improve performance, experience, sustainability and service delivery, while navigating critical questions around trust, privacy, ethics and data quality.

The Performance Workplace

As expectations of the office continue to evolve, workplace leaders are under pressure to demonstrate value in more meaningful ways. This theme looks beyond attendance and desk occupancy to ask how workplaces can actively support business performance: accelerating learning, strengthening culture, enabling innovation, building trust and improving the quality of collaboration. Sessions will explore how organisations are designing, measuring and adapting workplaces around outcomes that matter to both people and the business.

Human Advantage in the Intelligent Workplace

As workplaces become more intelligent, the human experience becomes more important, not less. This theme explores how organisations can design environments that support focus, creativity, learning, wellbeing and trust in an AI-enabled world. From neuroinclusive design and cognitive performance to psychological safety, culture and employee experience, sessions will examine how the workplace can help people do their best work while adapting to new technologies and changing expectations.
